Things that have made me laugh or smile the last few days...

Watching Noah and Levi play the guitar in their school concert

Watching Elise play her flute in her band of 18 I think she might even be first chair

Seeing a man riding his bike to work with his eyes completely shut (don't know if he was meditating or what)

Seeing a boy who was about 2 squatting and peeing out his slit pants at Carrefour (I thought Nancy was going to die. She's been here longer than me, but had never seen the slit pants in action)

My first attempt at a squatty potty ( I did very well :) )

Buying this really cool tree for my house that was in a huge pot and watching Nancy's driver shaking his head about fitting it in the van

Nancy and Michelle riding in the van with this huge tree between their faces all the way from Puxi (about 45 min)

Watching Nancy, Mary and my drivers all lug this huge pot up to my apartment (yes, it really took all three of them and they were hurting)

Me telling Hang Lei that he better not quit tomorrow after lugging that huge pot up to my apartment because I didn't know how I would be able to explain that one to Mark

Bargaining with people at Yu gardens

People trying to schmooze me at Yu gardens by wondering if Elise and I were sisters ("you look to young to have daughter that old, you only 27") Yeah right!!!

Getting the thumbs up and "hen how" (very good) about my large family from all of the vendors

Our DVD lady confusing me and Nancy and thinking that Mark and Nancy were married (they must think we all look alike, like we think they do)

Talking to Mark's whole family on the phone because they were all at Laurie's house

Spending Monday home with Jacob because he wasn't feeling real great (for those of you who know Jacob, even when he isn't feeling well he's still goofy)

Watching Elise do her portfolio presentation at school today

Reading a really good book called Heavenly Man (it's not a book that will make you laugh or smile, but it is a great read and I am just thankful to have time in my life to read books again)

Watching Noah score 7 goals at his last two soccer games

Knowing that my husband is coming home today after being at the plant since Monday

That's all for now!
Natalie

I thought of you the other day when I was working in my yard. I'm guess that you don't do yard work where you're at and you don't have a garage. I was thinking, where would I put all this stuff if I didn't have a garage?! I can't even park in my garage during the summer/spring/fall because it is such a mish mash of bikes, strollers, wagosn, wheelbarrows, roller blades, stuff in transition, recycling, tools, lumber, and ... you get the picture. I suppose if I didn't have a lawn, some of it I wouldn't need. I would actually miss having flower beds and a garden though. Anyway, just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you, which I do often.

Natalie,
This is Mom and 27, ha - I know better. Thanks for updating us on the happenings - we were missing you. It's no wonder you have so many hits on this site - people keep checking for more interesting blogs.
We're surviving the refinishing of our hardwood kitchen floor. We didn't have to move out like we had anticipated but we are still in a very big dusty mess. I went around with a pencil and paper and wrote down my unhappy finishing spots tonight. Must call for recheck tomorrow. We will have a very busy Memorial Day week-end cleaning up and reassessing the putting back of items - some of which are all ready gone!
Yeah Noah.....sounds like you are doing great with your soccer games. Sure wish I could see one. Dan's playing baseball so we watched him two nights in a row; one for baseball and one for his last band concert.
So, Noah & Levi are both taking up guitar - they'll have to converse with cousin Matt when they come home.
You still have a driver, Natalie? Sounds like you may be overworking him and your friends....I'd like to know how you got out of all of that.
Must move on - thanks again for the update.
We love all of you and miss you!
Happy Anniversary tomorrow!

Happy Anniversary to the Bergies!!! It must be your sweet 16th. Have you ever been kissed? Ha Ha DON'T answer that! I remember because Lyssa Lou was 18 months old and now she is 17 1/2. My, the time does fly.
Nats, did you not help with the plant because your thumb is injured? Wen and I were discussing that. Hate to have a relapse. What kind of plant was it? It must be a bute to have so many carry it and it still be heavy.
Tell Noah and Levi that Michael is practicing guitar as well. When you all come home in July maybe all of them could have a concert with Matty! Wouldn't that be grand?
What's wrong with my Jake? Does he have a cold or something? I've got one now as well. It's not all that much fun.
Yea - for Lise being first chair in flute. That's pretty cool. How does that 18 person band sound after 150?
Well, I must go walk with my personal slave driver.. er.. trainer, Mrs. Hoag. We are walking the mall today. We try to vary it so that we don't get too bored.
I miss you guys,
Love from Aunt Beth

Hi there!

Happy Anniversary to the two of you. Hope you got or get my card.
Are you doing anything special? I talked w/ Aunt Bonnie this morning because their anniversary is tomorrow. Sounds to me like she is heading for the cottage and hoping that Carl can cut out of the farm and come up so they can go to dinner together. Such romantics!

WE all enjoyed talking w/ everyone on the phone the other night at Laurie's. That was nice. I wish she would have had a couple more phones.

I am glad you have time to read and enjoy it.

Sounds like the kids and you are continuing to stay busy.

I agree w/ Grandma Ramseyer, I wish we could be there to see some of the school and athletic events.

Hope Jacob is feeling better and back to school.

Who will water the plant and keep it alive while you are gone? Or, is it an artificial?

Well, gotta get back to work this and next week are both short weeks with the holiday.

Talk to you soon.

Well, you're in bed now and your anniversary is over, but HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! I'm still amazed that Natalie has been in my life for more years than she was out of it. It seems like it hasn't been that long but then again it seems like forever! We really enjoyed talking to the whole family last weekend. With your blog I feel as though we have better contact with you than we even did before you moved, but it was still wonderful to hear all of your voices. It sounds like everyone is doing really well. It's hard for me to imagine scoring seven times in two soccer games, especially all from one player. Good job Noah!

I've seen Noah and Levi play Guitar Hero so I'm betting they're going to rock at the real thing. Some of the songs on Guitar Hero are so hard, I think it would be easier to play real guitar. Message in a Bottle on Medium difficulty kicks my butt every time.

Congratulations on the successful attempt at the squatty potty. I'm so proud! My boss went on a College Nationals Tennis trip last week and apparently he was entertaining his van with tales of pooping in the streets in China. He said his stories were a big hit with the crowd. I'll have to pass on some of your other anecdotes.

Hope you anniversary was a blast!

Love,
Angie

Just one more quick comment to Natalie - I agree with Angie! Way to go on the squatty potty!! Woot. It's not all that bad is it? The only bad experience I had was when there were tons of mosquitoes in the bathroom, and I was hurrying as fast as I could so that they wouldn't bite my butt! That would be a sight - me constantly scratching my itchy butt. Plus I might have contracted malaria. Yeah, now I've probably given a visual that you all didn't want, but I just had to share an experience with my sister. Way to go Nats!! Have the kids used them yet?
See ya,
Beth

Wow...happy anniversary, Bergs! Our anniversaries are only 3 days apart! (And two years) Mark and I share our anniversary with the twins' birthday--we were going out to dinner on our 10th anniversary, and ended up in the hospital giving birth to twins instead. Hard to believe they're already 8 years old. Anyhoooo...we're sneaking off this weekend (Memorial Day) to have our annual week-after-our-anniversary getaway.

How did you celebrate yours?

Betsy

Hi...I miss you guys being at your house. We've had lots of trip to Gladwin this month (Funeral, Dr. Appts, Visits, Retirement party) and it's just not the same when I drive by and beep. But to ease my pain, there is a girl at school named Chyna and I think I'm going to start beeping at her..she'll just laugh at me, but it will make be feel better.
Smiles,
Karen
