You say it's your birthday.....

Today was our birthday, we went to school with Hang Lei instead of the bus. We took
Dad to work and then to our school. The bad part was we watched How To Eat Fried Worms while becoming car sick, at the end of the ride Noah barfed all over the place. It smelled so bad I thought I was going to barf myself. We finally entered the school and had swimming right away.
On Saturday morning Dad told me (Levi) that we were going for a walk, it took us a while but we finally got there, a bike shop. I got a bike that was yellow and silver with two fenders, a bell, and gears.
When we got home we opened some of our presents that we got from Jacob , Hong, and Hang Lei. Hang Lei gave us watches, Hong gave us a cake, and Jacob gave us a football ( soccerball). All of our family went to Times Square where Noah made a stuffed tiger named Hobbes. After that we went to a Japanese restaurant that almost burned my head off when the cooker cleaned the stove. We then went home.
Hong gave us a chinese cake, our mom made us a oreo torte and a chocolate cookie.

Hi guys! Sounds like you had a great birthday except for the ride to school.

Must be you went to a restaurant where you watch them prepare your food by the grill?

Levi it sounds like you have a sharp new bike w/ 2 fenders and all.

Noah it sounds like you had fun making an animal Hobbes (like Calvin & Hobbes?) That is one of grandpa's favorite characters.

I don't think I can top those two cakes you received but I will see what I can come up with when we celebrate later.

Talk to you later.

What a wonderful day you had! Except for the getting sick part. I've never seen that movie though I did read the book. Was it the motion, the movie or both that caused the sickness? If I ever do watch it, I'll make sure I'm not moving!

Your mom sure does know how to bake. That cake sounds delicious! Growing up, Grandma always made the basic single layer box cakes, and she always decorated them with those rock hard sugar decorations. The "Strawberry Shortcake" characters were really popular back then. When I turned 16, your mom made me my first double layer cake and it was shaped like a heart! That was a very special moment for me.

I'm glad you were able to tell us some of your birthday details. Tell your dad he should put pictures of your bike and tiger on the blog for us to admire.

Love,
Aunt Angie

Well Levi & Noah - I have told your story quite often here. Sorry you got sick Noah, but aside from that and still having to go to school, sounds like you had a delightful celebration. What do those watches look like that your driver bought you?
One of the guys in the warehouse told the story of his son (who by the way is a very picky eater) eating the smallest worm he could find because their track coach told them if they would eat a worm, they wouldn't have to complete the last two track laps. Anyway, he ate this inch long skinny worm. I have to agree with you Noah - makes one want to barf to hear those stories.
Thanks for sharing your birthday details with all of us. And, I'm like aunt Debbie - I'd like to hear what the Chinese cake tasted like. I expect that it probably wasn't very sweet.
Love you lots,
Grandma R

Listening to Noah describe what happened and reading how Levi described it painted two totally different pictures. Levi's was much more graphic. I'm glad you guys had a great birthday celebration and shared your day with us.

I love you!

Hey, 11 year old boys!!!
As I sit writing this in my basement this evening you won't be surprised to know that I can hear a bat in my ceiling!!! The noise gives me the creeps. I don't know if it's as bad as eating worms however. I am pretty sure I would have left a pile on the floor along with Noah's. Yep, I basically feel pretty barfy myself when someone else is.
But, I am glad that your birthday was so much fun. What did you have to eat at dinner where your head almost came off?
By the way, what would you both like for your birthday when you come home to Midland? Would you like anything besides money? Hey, I know - how about lovely new white woven plastic baskets with pink and purple flowers to put on the front of your new bikes???!!! LOL!! Just kidding. I just wanted you to know that I am still the crazy ole (not OLD) Aunt Beth that you left, that loves to pick on you a bit.
How many days of school do you guys have left? Alyssa and Michael have only 6 days left. They are very happy about that. AND it is only one month until we get to see you for a bit. Have you grown taller?
It's almost my bedtime now so I would say good night, but you are both in school on a Wednesday, so maybe I better say good morning.
Happy Wednesday! Pooh likes to say that, you know. He's my favorite. I do like Hobbes as well. Will he be visiting Midland with you?
Later gators,
Aunt Beth
