Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone! It’s been a couple of busy months, so here are the updates for what we do know:
- We’ll be relocating at the end of March before Spring Break in the States. The kids are accepted to schools in China and will have somewhere to stay. They are VERY happy that I won’t be home schooling them to finish this school year. Elise will probably be attending Concordia and the boys will be attending Shanghai Community International School.
- We will be living somewhere in Pudong (the east side of the river in Shanghai). We have received a list of potential rentals and Natalie and I will be going house hunting January 18th – January 26th. The kids are looking forward to the opportunity to spend time staying at the Ramseyer’s until Natalie returns. On the trip we will select a house, pick a driver, and find an ayi (maid). We are also excited to get to see friends already in China.
Here at home:
- We will be putting our house up for sale in the next couple of weeks.
- Elise continues to Pompon. She has created a routine and the team will perform it soon. She also has a “boy” friend. Isaac is a very nice young man and everything a dad could look for in a boy wanting to date his daughter.
- Levi and Noah are continuing to enjoy playing basketball for their new coach and team. It has been fun to watch them and other kids on the team grow in their skills and confidence.
- Jacob continues to be the kid everyone likes to be around. He is the family jokester and always tries to make people laugh. I like to call him the “Axe” man. Some girls at school decided he needed some Axe cologne. It is never difficult to SMELL him coming!
That’s it for now, Mark
