Summer happenings.....

We had an amazing week of weather at the lake with Mark's family. Sunny, clear blue skies,(that's not a norm in our lives anymore) 85-90 and it only rained at night. We couldn't have asked for a better time. We swam, ate, went for boat rides, ate, played games, read, fished, went for walks, oh and did I mention we ate:) I think Mark's mom had enough food to feed a small army.
Monday night, Uncle Scott got us awesome seats at the Whitecaps vs. Loons game. Go Loons!!! The Loons won 8-6. We had a great time! The highlights of the game were when I played The Price is Right between the 4th and 5th innings. I had 30 seconds to guess the price of a bottle of ketchup. I still have my mad shopping skilllz (that's for you Ang) and I guessed it in about 5 seconds. Because of my mad skillz everyone sitting in our section also won a bottle of ketchup. All in all the Berg family is now the proud owner's of 10 bottles of ketchup:) However, that wasn't the best of the baseball game. After the 7th inning, Mark did the dizzy bat contest. He had to put his forehead on a bat and run around it until the guy had counted to 10. He thinks he spun around it about 15-20 times. he then had to run to 3rd base and then to 2nd. But first he had to run around this barrel. He sure made our family proud, as we watched him spin his forhead on the bat, cling to the barrel as he tried to run around it, and then head towards the Loons dugout because he was soooo dizzy he couldn't make his body run straight. At the same time, he was racing against a girl on first base. She wiped out and was sure she was going to get sick, so Mark ended up holding her up as she tried to walk off the field. He won the competition and made us so proud:) He won a t-shirt and two tickets to a concert that he wasn't going to be around for. So he gave them to the girl, because he felt soo bad for her.
Well, we're back in Midland now, so if you need to get ahold of us we're at my parents!

Oh, my word, Mark!!! I get dizzy only thinking of that!! What an act of kindness to the girl!! I bet she could figure out that you were a kind, Godly man!

Keep having fun and enjoying your stay!!

And people say chivalry is dead! If your boys grow up to be half the gentleman their daddy is, they will be true knights.

Sounds like the weather was perfect for your camping trip. It has been in the 90's here, and suddenly today it is 66 and still falling. Feels like autumn tonight. Perfect sleeping weather...

With you being back in the states, I've decided to watch for weird Americanism (vs. Chinese-isms). Although I have seen a plethera of them since I first began watching, my favorite thing so for is the carpet square that that was in the floor of the porta-potty in Traverse City! Very classy accomodations for those Cherry Festival tourists!
So good to see all of you!

Ohhhh Mark....I'm so disappointed in you. Here you were in the U.S. and you didn't take time to watch Slim Pig....You have no idea what you're missing.

Heard your trip back was safe and sound, and so are you. That's good. Thanks for sharing your wifey with us girls.

Smiles,
Karen
