In Beijing I did many things including hike the great wall, visit a children's village, go to an organic farm, and eat food that wasn't my favorite. The plan ride to Beijing took almost 2 hours. On the plan ride I sat next to two people Sun Ju An and Cari Brooks. Sun Ju had a serious case of not being able to fly as for during takeoff, landing, and turbulence, he grabbed on to me and wouldn't let me go until I sang him classical music. The other person that i sat next to was Cari. The whole time we sat and played cards, playing cards really helped pass the time. As soon as we got off of the airplane I was a lucky person to help take 90 pieces of luggage off of the belt that is what I call lots of fun.
As soon as we left the airport we went straight to the children's village, this village is for Chinese kids aging from 4 month's-18 years old whose parent or parents have been put into jail and has no one to look after them. At the village we split off into groups to do some different things with the kids. My roommate, Ryan Schroering, and I got to play with 5 or 6 year old kids. We got to play with balloons. Since neither of us can speak Chinese well enough to communicate with him we just played and used sign language. Since we cant speak Chinese we also just named him pimptastic mac made up by my roommate Ryan. That was the first day.
On the second day of “The Great Beijing Trip” we hiked the great wall covering almost 20 kilometers in 5 hours only stopping once for a 20 minute lunch break. On the wall u could see some amazing views including Mongolia and Beijing since the great wall separates them. As we hiked it we had one fast group and one extremely slow group, as u may have guessed i toke the fast group. Try to imagine this playing B.S., a card game, in the middle of the great wall with a group of 10 people you want to talk about getting stared at. I was the 3rd one to arrive at the top. After finishing hiking the great wall we got to stay at a youth hostel. In all of the rooms we all had a great portrait. While we had a portrait of a naked lady, guess whose room everyone wanted to visit. So anyways when my teacher, Mrs. Frerking came into our room to tell us the plans for tonight and tomorrow shes like um I feel a little weird in this room do u mind if i take it down. So she takes it down and hides it behind the t.v. that doesn't work. After all of us settled down we went to a campfire at it we had a comparison of the city to the country. Most of the teachers agreed that I made probably the best point of the whole trip. The definition of nice is completely different. In the city everyone expects skyscrapers and perfect plumbing and a great water system. But out in the country they just want a roof over their heads, food to live off of, plumbing that just barely gets the job done, and water within 5 kilometers. That was the 2nd day.

Jacob Berg...you crack me up! Yes, I can imagine you were in the fast group! AND, I can believe that your room was the most visited by the other boys. You know, that is how God made you to enjoy women, and I know you will make a wonderful husband to some fine young lady some day. I can't wait to hear more about your trip!
We aren't doing anything nearly as exciting as you guys are. We are just livin' life; going to school, work, church, and occasionally renting a movie. That is pretty much it! Oh, and every once in a while we order pizza. That is a real treat, and yummy too!
Love you bud, take care and write more soon!
Love,
Aunt Deb
Jacob,
I'm so glad you knew that much classical music to help that poor guy out!!
I also knew you would have been one of the first to be to the top of the wall. I think your at Carol would have been bringing up the tail end!!
It sounds like a great experience!
