Today started out a little rough with a miscommunication about the driver and who got him today. I know that many of you think that having a driver sounds great. However, think about how many times in a day you just jump in your car and go wherever you want whenever. It just doesn't work like that here. Oh well, we got through it. Noah and Levi now ride the school bus to and from school and Elise and Jacob either walk, take a taxi or the driver takes them. They always walk home though. It is very interesting putting your two kids in a taxi that costs about $1.30 to get them to school.
Noah and Levi seem to be very happy at their school. Today they had a soccer day at a school that was across the road from our apartments. I was able to walk over and watch them play soccer and meet some mom' s of some of their classmates. They were told to bring sunscreen, but we don't have any because it is in one of our shipments. I was sure that they would be just fine without it. Of course, I was wrong and now they look like two little blond haired lobsters. Elise seems to be a little bored with school because she really hasn't had much homework yet. We keep assuring her that it is coming. We were thankful that she is right where she needs to be in most classes and ahead in some. Alyssa you will be happy to know that your cousin is much better than last chair here in band:) Jacob too is a "seasoned clarinetist" here. For all of you who have ever heard Jacob play the clarinet, that would make you smile. Jacob seems to be the one kid who is getting his butt kicked when it comes to homework. He has been averaging two hours a night, but seems to be adjusting. We always knew he had it in him, he just never had a reason to show us before.
Today, two of my girlfriends took me to an amazing restaurant called Element Fresh for my birthday. It was so good!
My ayi was the laundy and ironing queen today. Honest to goodness, I think she even ironed the boys boxers. Whew! That's a lifestyle I definitely don't won't them to get used too. They will be so disappointed when we get back to the states.
Until next time......
