where art thou oh Mary Kay?!?!

All in all, today was a great birthday. Thank you to all of my friends and family who went out of their way to make my first birthday in China special. I received cards by snail mail from all of Mark's family yesterday. This morning Mark's mom and sister Laura called me. When I got to my apartment this morning I had cards and gifts waiting from all of my sister's, my parents and Mark and the kids. Tonight, my friend Lori called me. Yes, being the baby child I love gifts. Maybe someday I will outgrow it but I doubt it. I went to lunch with four of my friends today. Tonight, we went to a yummy mexican restaurant for dinner. It tasted so good to have chips and salsa. It took us an hour to get there but it was so worth it. I think the people there really liked the kids because they kept bringing them virgin strawberry margaritas on the house. The kids were whiney about how long it took to get there, but ended up loving it.
My sad news for today is that while my air shipment arrived, it was missing all of my Mary Kay makeup.:( Very sad for me. Good for you Deb, because when I get my check from insurance I will have to rebuy everything. All in all it was about $170 worth of makeup. I don't know what I'm going to do until July because I am almost out of base. They have all kinds of makeup here but they put whitening in everything. Including some body washes. As much as we want to be tan they want to be white. What's up with that!?!:)
Some of you have wondered what the weather is like here. It is definitely spring. Today I asked my friend if we were back in Michigan because yesterday was sunny, blue skies and 75. Today, was gray and quite chilly! Things are starting to bloom around here. They have the most beautiful cherry tree's blossoming all over town.
Another question I am getting is how is Mark's work. Well I think ok so far. He really didn't work much last week and this week he has been going to different sites. There are actually 4 different sites of Dow Corning around here. I believe next week he will have to start going to the plant.
Thank you all for a great 37th birthday! I love you all!
Natalie

Did someone tell you about the weather here? It was bright, cheery and 70 on Tuesday and gray, cold, and windy with flurries on Wednesday. I'm glad your birthday was special.
