*The fruit pineapple and watermelon are yummy
*The beautiful flowers that you can buy on the street corner for very very cheap
Angie they have this amazing flower that is orange with a purple center I think of you every time I see it
*My new friends and old friends who check in on me every day and who are willing to be tour guides in this huge city(they know where to find everything too)
*Our driver-he's awesome! He doesn't drive crazy, but I'm pretty sure he thinks I am. He laughs at me on a daily basis:)
*Being able to walk everywhere-I might just whittle away to nothing while I'm here(but I doubt it)
Shanglows
*The little kids here have slits in the back of their pants, for what you ask, well so they can go to the bathroom wherever and whenever they need to of course. Last night, we saw a little boy going to the bathroom on the sidewalk(#2) and his mom was wiping his behind.
*Men peeing on sidewalks. It is just perfectly acceptable!
*People staring! I was pretty sure a guy was stalking me yesterday as he rode his bike past me, with his head turned staring at me (he's lucky he didn't run into a moped or another bike), then he turned around and rode his bike back past me, then a few minutes later he walked his bike past me. I guess after that he must've decided he knew what I looked like. (freaky American with streaky blond hair)
*There are no car seats for infants here. So it is not unusual to see babies on mom's laps or kids bouncing all over the backseat of a car. Of course, one of the cutest things that I have seen is this little boy who was probably 4, sound asleep on the back of his mom's bike and she had one hand reached around hanging on to him. No, they don't have seats on the back of their bikes like we do.
That's all for now!

Okay..that is just wrong to be peeing and pooping in the streets! But, I guess it is a different culture than here in America. I know exactly what you mean when you talk about being glad you're not pregnant...the smells just get to you at that time of life don't they?! How is work going for Mark? I don't think you guys ever mentioned anything about that in your emails or blog. Just wondering...
love to everyone...deb
Well, I am going to try this in the anonymus column and see if it will go through that way! I was talking to my little Kate today and she told me she wouldn't want to be in China because they are undergroud. That surely is what it looks like to her on the globe!
I'm glad everything is going well!
Aunt Carol
I'm so jealous! Now I totally want to go there, just to see the flowers. Not that I wasn't planning to go anyway. I'm happy that you have such a nice reason to think of me. I think of YOU every time I hear Rick Springfield on my iPod (G L O R I A). We'll have to sing that together this summer because it's such a fun one. Anyway, I'm looking forward to your next update and I hope everything continues to go well! Angie
